Balanced eating isn’t ALL or NOTHING!

Within the SAME DAY, you can choose foods that nourish your body, while simultaneously choosing foods that satisfy your taste buds and comfort your soul!💞

The all or nothing mentality (when it comes to food) often fosters the cycle of “clean eating” following by overindulging or binging on the restricted foods you were not allowing yourself previously! Sound familiar?

SO, what if we just allowed ourselves to enjoy the foods we are craving, when we are craving them, in a moderate and mindful way? While, in the same day, recognizing we can respect our bodies through also choosing nourishing items that we ENJOY!

A common fear I hear is: I would just eat [insert restricted food] all day/every day!

My response is: possibly, after periods of restriction it might look like that for a few days as you adjust to a new mindset, but how do you think your body would feel after that?

Typically people realize that binging or overdoing it on certain foods probably wouldn’t feel the best in their body, and intuitive eating is all about LISTENING to what our bodies are asking for! And (spoiler alert) they tend to CRAVE balance since this is when we can function best!

A balanced day for someone might look like: a breakfast of oatmeal, Greek yogurt, and berries, a mixed salad with chicken breast and fries for lunch, an apple and peanut butter for a snack, a stir-fry with tofu and rice for dinner, and ice cream with walnuts and strawberries for dessert. Totally acceptable!

What are some of your favourite ways to nourish and respect your body, tastebuds, and soul?!
