Amber Whittemore

Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Counsellor, Founder of The Nourished Co.

Amber founded The Nourished Co. (originally Nourish to Flourish) because she is deeply passionate about providing accessible, approachable, and de-stigmatized mental health and eating disorder support - a life purpose that was born from her own previous struggle with (and recovery from) an eating disorder, as well as her lived experience with neurodiversity (ADHD) and mental illness. Her counselling and coaching are rooted in weight-neutral/body-positive, intuitive/mindful eating and non-pathologized approaches that put the person before the diagnosis. In the spirit of helping her clients heal and step into a place of more radical self-acceptance, Amber has the goal of insighting deeper levels of self-compassion, self-awareness, and embodiment or empowerment in their lives.

Beginning her professional dietetic career began in 2020, Amber began working as a clinical dietitian at the Kelowna General Hospital in British Columbia, the site of her dietetic residency, where she gained experience with a variety of acute and chronic illnesses, gastroenterology, psychiatric and intensive care. Amber has also previously worked as a community and private dietitian at an intensive multidisciplinary clinic, Healthy Essentials Clinic, where she gained invaluable experience in the field of eating disorders, nutrition counselling, mental health, and program planning.

Amber synergistically bridges her training, expertise, and professional experience as an accredited healthcare professional with her lived experiences, post-graduate research, and training in the areas of mindfulness, self-compassion, leadership, and intuitive development. She is honoured each and every day to hold the space she does with and for clients, as well as to walk alongside them on their journeys, and she hopes to have the opportunity to connect soon!

Ally Goult

Registered Clinical Counsellor BCACC #18221

Ally was born and raised in North Vancouver, BC, and graduated from Mulgrave School with an IB diploma. For most of her life Ally has known she wanted to be a therapist, and in pursuit of that dream went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Ally began her career in the field of mental health in 2017 as a youth counsellor for the YMCA, where she supported at-risk teens. She was powerfully impacted by this work, which really brought home to her that at their core and in spite of the profound adversity they may have faced, human beings have a deep capacity for healing. To finally realize her lifelong goal of becoming a therapist, Ally completed her Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle, and now holds the designation of Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC. She currently lives in West Vancouver with her two dogs and cat, who she loves dearly, and enjoys being in nature and taking advantage of Vancouver’s beautiful patios on her weekends.

As a therapist and as a person, Ally would describe herself as very intuitive, often sensing what her clients need in a session, and thereby tailoring therapy to the unique needs of each client. Ally believes that increasing self-awareness is very empowering, and works to educate her clients on the role of their nervous system in many of the challenges they are facing, both emotionally and in relationships. Ally is trained in a somatic modality for trauma processing, and blends this with her own background in yoga and spirituality when helping clients heal the origins of challenging emotions. By doing this, she effectively helps her clients heal trauma, work through anxiety and self-shame, and become more able to self-soothe through the challenges of life. Ally also works with parts therapy, to help her clients connect to and hold space for their inner child, inner teenager, or any other part that may have been harmed in the past. Ally has been both a longtime client of therapy, and more recently a therapist herself, and believes deeply in the power that can come from the therapeutic relationship. She values her bonds with her clients above all else, and is committed to providing a space that is warm, caring, and totally non-judgemental. She shares herself authentically with her clients, and is committed to providing a very different therapeutic experience for those clients who have felt unsafe in therapy in the past. It is Ally’s promise that in working with her, you will feel supported, you will feel safe, and you will feel understood. She will work every session to identify why it is that you are struggling, to give you the tools for self-healing, and to move you forward with a sense of clarity and empowerment.
